[CamSlutsBlog] Since when and why did you become a camgirl?
[Nina] I started cam in August 2017. I had been thinking about it for a while but didn’t have the time to dedicate to it (in hindsight: I didn’t take the time to dedicate to it). It intrigued and excited me but I had, until then, never dared to take the step.
In August 2017, I was alone on vacation because my children were at their father’s house. It should be noted that I am a mother of 2 children and single. It’s not easy every day, I have little time available for myself and despite working full time, it was very difficult for me to make ends meet. Fast forward to August 2017, I’m on holiday by myself and normally it’s time to decompress. Unfortunately, the idea of going back to work in September, the relentless rush, the difficult end of the month, as well as the little time to enjoy my children (nanny work sleep…) were spoiling my holidays. That was the trigger, so I did some research on the internet and launched myself. I had a triple objective: freedom, money and fun!
It wasn’t easy but now I can say that these three goals are fulfilled in my eyes.
[CamSlutsBlog] Are you able to make a living out of it? Can you give us some numbers?
[Nina] Yes, I have been making a full living from it since March 2018.
In the beginning (in 2017), I was only doing shows in the evening, after work when the kids were in bed. It gave me a nice extra paycheck, but in the end I didn’t have any more freedom than before. So I asked my boss to increase my salary to 80% in order to devote myself more seriously to this new activity. Of course, officially it was to take care of the children. I liked it and it worked. So I quickly considered leaving my job. I asked for a contractual termination but it was refused (I wanted to be entitled to unemployment benefits just in case). After a month of reflection, I submit my resignation on January 2, 2018! There followed two months of stressful notice where I wondered if I had done the right thing, not to mention the questions from colleagues…
Today, I do not regret anything. I live only from this activity with a much better rhythm of life than before. I can take care of my children, go shopping or any other activity during the day. I do about 5 hours of shows a day, often in two times. My income is not fixed, it varies between 2800$ and 4000$ per month. After conversion into euro and payment of social charges, this corresponds to a range of 1900€ to 2700€ on average. But it’s increasing little by little for the same number of hours of “work” because I have more and more regular customers. My best month, I earned 4800€.
[CamSlutsBlog] How do you protect your privacy on the sites?
[Nina] Nothing in particular. I have a lot of American clients but I have a few French ones. They don’t know my name or where I live. Nobody recognized me.
I could block French users from the platform to make sure I’m not recognized but, for now, I haven’t done so. Nevertheless, I’m considering doing so once I have a large enough and regular foreign fan base.
[CamSlutsBlog] Do your relatives know about your activity?
[Nina] Absolutely not. I still have a hard time with the way most people look at this business. I’m not ready to face it yet. So officially, I’m a web writer.
[CamSlutsBlog] What is your legal status?
[Nina] I am a micro-business. But it is possible that I will reach the ceiling (CA=70000€/year) next year. I haven’t yet found out which status to use in that case.
[CamSlutsBlog] Any advice for beginner camgirls?
[Nina] I have plenty!
During the shows: smile and listen!!! And most importantly, don’t skimp on the sex toys and lingerie. This is an important point to bring customers into your room. On the other hand, don’t forget to impose your limits during the shows because there are some users who are a bit “heavy”…
For those who are hesitating to start, go for it! What do you risk? In the worst case, you have wasted your time. In the best case, you earn money by making yourself happy! If I hadn’t done it, I’d still be at my old job earning 1400€ and chasing time. After that, it’s sure it’s not easy and not all of us make a living out of it, but nothing is worth trying!
[CamSlutsBlog] Are you present on social networks?
[Nina] As a camgirl, no. It’s something interesting to get users but I don’t know how to use them while protecting my identity, my privacy. So I do without although I know for a fact that it deprives me of some income.
[CamSlutsBlog] Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
[Nina] I honestly don’t know. But I have lots of ideas and desires!
Will I always be a camgirl? It’s possible. Will I do something else? It’s possible too. Right now, I’m enjoying this job so I have time to take care of my kids. That’s the main thing.
