Interview with Coralie: successful camgirl without showing her face

[CamSlutsBlog] Before I begin this interview, I’d like to add a few words about our guest. I’ve known Coralie for many years and I want to thank her for participating in this interview for two reasons: 1) it’s hard to find camgirls willing to lend themselves to this game so thank you for the push!, 2) her background and especially her way of performing shows is very interesting and will certainly interest the female readers that you are. [CamSlutsBlog] Hi Coralie, how old are you?

[Coralie] I am 32 years old. So I’m starting to be considered a Milf in the cam world!

[CamSlutsBlog] On which site(s) can we find you?

[Coralie] On Chaturbate and XCams. But I tested a lot of existing and even non-existing sites (for those who knew the Francolive era 🙁 ).

I mainly use Chaturbate. Sure it’s a big site with quite a bit of competition but with experience I’d rather pick up lots of crumbs from a big cake than a small piece of a small cake. It should also be recognized that Chaturbate is mostly used by Americans for whom tip culture is much more natural.

I use XCams as a dilettante. I make less money there but the shows are more relaxing, cooler. They are private shows with a loyal audience mostly French speaking. But it’s clear that I would have a hard time making the same income being exclusively on XCams.

[CamSlutsBlog] Since when and why did you become a camgirl?

[Coralie] I started this adventure in 2015, at 28 years old.

Why? In 4 words: spatial and temporal freedom! To explain, at the end of my studies, I quickly realized that my only chance to find a job in my field was to stay in Paris. Unfortunately, I hate big cities and promiscuity… I took it upon myself during my first two years of active life but it was very burdensome. Moreover, I didn’t like the work I was doing. I had no freedom in doing it, I had to do exactly what was asked of me, period.

So I made the decision to gain more freedom in the execution of my work to become a Freelancer (and yes, camgirl is for later!). I was able to make a living from it but my income was 70% dependent on one big client. A big client who forced me to come and work at his company’s headquarters and who was also very directive in the instructions given. In short, 70% of the time I had the constraints of an employee without the advantages and I still lived in Paris.

I talk about it with my friends and a good friend of mine puts me on the track of the camgirl job. She will recognize herself, I heard she even wrote a blog about it ;-). Honestly, at first I was very skeptical. But the freedom associated with this job encouraged me to test. The test was conclusive and here I am, launched into this new adventure. I now have this freedom that allows me to live where I want (in the countryside!) and to travel several months a year.

[CamSlutsBlog] Do you manage to make a living from it? Can you give us some figures?

[Coralie] To begin with, you should know that I kept my freelance activity in communication in parallel. But freedom obliges, only with customers letting me work from home. These are mainly “small” clients and it takes me about 15 to 20 hours a week.

So the camgirl part is focused on the rest of the time, which is between 10 and 15 hours of show time per week. This is an average, it’s actually quite fluctuating. On the money side, I make an average of about 3000€ per month.

So to answer the question: so I live partially from it because I have two activities but it could totally be my only source of income.

[CamSlutsBlog] How do you protect your privacy on the sites?

[Coralie] Very interesting topic as this is definitely the biggest drag by far for girls wanting to get started. And obviously it was for me too.

I came to the conclusion that the simplest recipes are the best and I simply made the choice to never show my face to the camera. And yes, it is entirely possible to be a camgirl without showing your face. I always wear a mask (made of sexy black lace) to hide my face and I also make sure that my face is out of the webcam’s field most of the time. And this even in the private shows on XCams where I never show my face. I even play it up with the viewers during cam2cam.

Bref, the best way to protect your privacy is not to expose it!

[CamSlutsBlog] Do your relatives know about your business?

[Coralie] Only my boyfriend and my two closest friends.

[CamSlutsBlog] What is your legal status?

[Coralie] I have an SASU but it’s not (anymore) the status that is the most adapted to my situation.

Actually, as I explained above, I started as a camgirl when I was already a freelance communicator. So I had already opened a self-business. At the time, the maximum turnover was around 32000€ per year. I was already very close to it with my freelance activity and so I opened this SASU (Single Person Simplified Joint Stock Company) to combine my two activities.

Today, the turnover ceiling of the auto-entreprise has been doubled and I could therefore carry out my two activities within an auto-entreprise. No accountant, much less social charges…, I would be a big winner. But, because there is a but, I am taking a loan to buy my house and the banks ask me for a 3 years history of my business. So it’s not the time to change. Nevertheless, as soon as the loan is granted, I’ll go back to micro-business.

[CamSlutsBlog] Any advice for beginning camgirls?

[Coralie] So for camgirls who are just starting out, I would say don’t get discouraged! The first few shows are the hardest. It’s not easy to stay in front of your cam for several hours without seeing a dropped token or even a viewer intervening in the chat. Don’t worry, we’ve all been there. Only those who persevered succeeded!

For those who are hesitant to take the plunge, I would say “give it a shot, you have nothing to lose!” If the question of your privacy scares you, you know it’s possible to do it without showing your face, so go for it!

[CamSlutsBlog] Do you have a presence on social media?

[Coralie] I was, I’m not anymore, and I will be again soon!

Actually, I used to have an Instagram account with quite a few followers but I got banned during the last “anti-sexy” wave (like many camgirls after all).

I have plans to create a twitter account but I’m a bit “lazy” at the moment. I also need to read up on Snapchat.

[CamSlutsBlog] Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

[Coralie] Good question! Honestly, I have no idea. Living like I do now would suit me just fine!
