How to choose your webcam site?

Choosing the cam site on which you will broadcast your shows is not an easy thing. You already have to know the different existing sites and what are the determining criteria in this choice.

The main criteria for choosing a site for camgirl

You will find in this part the criteria which are for me the most important in the choice of the webcam site on which you will broadcast.

The business model: premium or freemium?

The first criterion to consider is the model of the cam site. Namely, Freemium or Premium. I have already written a full article on this subject. Feel free to check it out here. If I have to make a summary of it:

• Premium model: camgirls are paid by viewers for private shows. Only those who have paid attend the show.
• the freemium model: the shows are public. Any viewer can attend. The camgirls are paid thanks to tips given by the viewers.

Note that the freemium model is more and more represented. Personally, I prefer this model but I think the best way to choose is to test both. You should not neglect this point, especially since the sites with the highest traffic are also those with the most marketing resources. As in most businesses, the biggest are often the ones that do best.
• The more popular the site is, the less likely it is to encounter difficulties (unpaid, disappearance or absorption by a competitor …). This risk should not be taken lightly because it happens regularly with small platforms. Below this Anglicism, lies the percentage of the money paid by viewers that the cam site pays back to the cam girls. In other words, it is the ratio (camgirl token value) / (viewer token value). There too, we often read that it is better to choose a cam site with the best payout. And again, this is only valid when comparing sites with similar main criteria. Indeed, what’s the point of having a 90% payout (it’s for the example, I don’t know!) if there is almost no viewer on the site? The important thing is what you earn in the end!

Which_webcam_site_to_choose?

While the previous table only lists the most interesting webcam platforms, there are still 17. So below you will find a summary of this synthesis as well as our recommendations.

At your beginning, do not hesitate to test several platforms to see which ones suit you best. Once you are seasoned, you will keep the one you like best or even several by doing camsplitting.

Freemium sites

The leader: Chaturbate

Chaturbate is simply the leader in the Freemium market and it is not by chance. This platform has a great reputation and colossal traffic. In addition, the payout is in the high average of sites (about 60% of customer payments) despite a significant marketing carried out by the platform (and which is therefore a cost for it).

The site also offers a permanent hourly contest based on the most viewed room: the first camgirl then gets a bonus of $10 and the second of $5. This contest takes place every hour and it’s therefore no less than 48 daily winners.

Chaturbate also allows camgirls to sell photos or videos to their fans. They can buy them individually (X tokens per video) or through a monthly subscription to the camgirl’s fanclub. The rate is set by the camgirl.

The competitor: The Stripchat and XhamsterLive duo

Xhamsterlive and Stripchat’s templates are managed by Stripchat’s platform. So you can be broadcast on both platforms simultaneously. Thus, the cumulative traffic is very important, although less than Chaturbate. The average camgirl payout is also about 60% of customer payouts.

There is a monthly ($2000 for first place) and hourly ($20 for first place) contest. Like Chaturbate, the audience is mainly English-speaking. As a newbie, you get a visibility bonus during the first two weeks.

L’outsider : BongaCams

BongaCams is a newer platform than the previous two, but already has significant traffic. It has historically some drawbacks: 1) a very represented Russian-speaking audience but that unfortunately speaks very little English, 2) a larger number of viewers who just watch without ever tipping than the above mentioned platforms.

Hopefully these two characteristics are slowly diminishing and BongaCams is now a platform where it is possible to make a good living today. They also offer weekly contests ($1000 for the winner).

The outsider with majority Francophone users: XloveCam

XloveCam is the underdog for me for French speaking camgirl. It’s a smaller platform than the previous ones (lower traffic but not anecdotal) but it is consulted for a majority of Europeans. France and Belgium represent more than 40% of the platform’s visitors. If English is not your strong point, you will have no difficulty finding a French-speaking audience.

Like these competitors, XloveCam offers a daily contest: the top 5 camgirls who have received the most bonuses from customers will receive an additional bonus.

The Premium sites

The leader: LiveJasmin

Like Chaturbate for Freemium, LiveJasmin is the historical leader of the Premium segment. The number of visitors is very high and the traffic is quality (i.e., model-friendly and willing to pay).

Livejasmin pays out up to 80% of the earnings generated. The site holds a weekly sexiest camgirl contest as well as a monthly contest for the best video. Visitors are mostly English-speaking but nearly 10% of the traffic comes from France. This is not negligible, it represents about 40 million monthly connections (source).

Flirt4free is not a Premium site in the original sense of the word because it allows nudity on freechat. It is therefore an interesting choice and ensures a certain durability.

Flirt4free logically has less traffic than the leader LiveJasmin but it is steadily increasing (source). It can also be noted that it has a slightly lower reversion rate than the leader.

In conclusion, compared to LiveJasmin, Flirt4free is behind on several points. Nevertheless, its mixed concept (Premium with nudity allowed) makes it interesting. You can register here.

The outsider with majority Francophone users: XCams

XCams defines itself as the #1 webcam site in Europe. Obviously, the platform is still smaller than the premium platforms previously offered. Nevertheless, XCams has several advantages over its competitors:

• XCams has a predominantly European customer base and therefore a significant number of French customers. This is an important point when you are a French speaking camgirl. French customers are looking above all to exchange in French (the talent of the French for foreign languages is not a myth^^), and you therefore have an advantage on this point.
• The customer support speaks French (in addition to English and German) and easily reachable in case of problem.
