You’re a camgirl but you can’t seem to bring traffic to your room? You don’t understand why some girls have several hundred viewers within minutes of logging in? You don’t see why some camgirls are on the main page and you are on page 10? The answers are called Traffic bots and Divatraffic!
Ranking on cam sites: one of the keys to success
Before I tell you about Divatraffic and traffic bots, I think it’s important to give a reminder about how ranking works on cam sites.
What I call ranking is nothing more or less than the order in which camgirls are displayed on the cam site pages. It is based on a score calculated internally by the cam site. The higher the score of a camgirl, the more she will be in the first camgirls displayed. Obviously, the higher the score, the more likely it is that visitors will come to see her show and spend some tokens.
It’s common in internet SEO to say that if you’re not on the first page on google you don’t exist. Here it’s the same thing. If you are not on the first page of the cam site, you do not exist.
But then, how to be well ranked and how is this score calculated? You should know that each platform has its own algorithm but it is quite possible to find some common factors:
- The quality of the stream. Better to be in HD+ than in 480p. The better the video quality, the higher your score will be.
- the number of subscriber. The more subscribers you have, the higher your score will be.
- The number of viewer present in your room. The more viewers in your room, the higher your score will be.
- The number of registered viewer present in your room. The more registered viewers in your room, the higher your score will be.
The last two points are the most important in the calculation of the score. This is ultimately quite logical. The cam platform seeks to maximize its revenue. It must therefore direct viewers to the rooms in which viewers are most likely to spend. It must therefore find the rooms that appeal the most. The first clue to finding these rooms is simply based on the number of current viewers.
This is the whole paradox: for a camgirl to make money, she must have viewers. To get viewers, she has to rank well. To rank well, she must already have viewers.
Platforms are well aware of this issue. So they have put in place some parades to limit this vicious circle. The most common ones are: the visibility bonus for beginners (their score is improved during the first weeks of broadcasting) and the random bonus (randomly, the score of some rooms is temporarily improved). These parades help but the trend described above is still extremely dominant.
The methods to improve his ranking: traffics bots and buying viewers
So what are the solutions to improve your ranking? As we saw in the previous paragraph, improving your ranking consists in increasing the number of viewers in your room. Be careful, it is about increasing the number of viewers in your room only when you broadcast, not otherwise. This is an important point because having a few hundred viewers on your page permanently when you are not connected would appear suspicious to the platform. You could then be banned or more likely downgraded (the exact opposite of what you’re looking for).
There are two solutions to increase the number of viewers when you broadcast: traffic bots and purchasing viewers.
Traffic bots
The traffic bots(=robots) are programs that will come into your room to simulate the presence of viewers. There are some for different cam platforms, mostly for the most known ones. The characteristics to take into account when choosing a traffic bots:
- the traffic should be generated only when you are on show. This can be done automatically or manually (you activate the traffic when you want)
- the traffic must be generated in a progressive way. It’s not about getting 1000 viewers in your room one second after you log in
- the traffic generated should have as much “human” behavior as possible. For example, the set of “dummy” viewers should not stay for 2 hours in your room. There must be a turnover otherwise it will be not very credible and will risk raising an alert to the platform managers.
This is the whole difficulty of traffics bot: find one that works without risking being flagged by the platform. It’s all about staying under the radar. Otherwise, you risk an alert see a ban by the cam platform and in addition you will have lost the few hundred euros that most bots cost.
I haven’t personally tested many traffic bots. However, I know several camgirls who use unuro.com and are happy with it. It’s price is about average at $500/year. It allows you to send up to 1000 dummy viewers in your chatroom. It only works with Chaturbate.
Buying viewers via Divatraffic
The second way to move up the rankings is through purchasing viewers. This consists, as the name suggests, of buying viewers, so that they come to your room. Rest assured, you don’t need to go out and get them one by one or manage advertising campaigns with advertisers. There are services like Divatraffic that manage this part of viewer acquisition by advertising on various sites. By subscribing to their services, they will take care of automatically redirecting viewers to your room when you are logged in.
The benefits are numerous, so I’ll focus on the two that I think are the most important:
- the traffic usually comes from advertising placed on sites, how shall we say…, with pornographic tendencies. So this is qualified traffic, which is therefore potentially very interested in showcams. In addition to making you rise in the rankings, a share of this traffic is therefore likely to give you tokens.
- unlike traffic bots, these are real viewers. Their behaviors will therefore be deemed normal by the cam platform’s traffic verification algorithm. So there is no chance of being punished.
I invite you to read up on Divatraffic’s website to know all the features they offer.
They offer several plans for independent camgirls between $9.90 and $99.90 per month (no commitment, it’s cheaper if you commit for a year). Each plan includes tokens “offered” (you will not be disappointed, it is also the internal currency of the site Divatraffic) that allow you to buy traffic. You can then buy additional tokens if you want more traffic and therefore more viewers. It may seem expensive, but the idea is to earn much more than what the traffic costs you. Like any advertising, it is an investment that must be profitable.
<You can sign up here.
From my point of view, the $9.90 plan is too limited, it’s better to start directly with the $29.90 one and buy additional tokens on demand if needed. After a month or two, you can switch to the cheaper plan depending on how much traffic you need.
You have the ability to choose the geographical origin of the traffic you buy: world, USA, Europe… It’s up to you to test what works best. You can do a mix: low-cost traffic of “poor quality” (but which makes you rise in the rankings) + “expensive” but quality traffic (whose viewers can become consumers). In short, test and refine!
Divatraffic is compatible with the following cam platforms:
Note: given the number of compatible platforms, it’s easy to understand that this practice of buying a viewer is very very common.
But ultimately, isn’t it cheating?
This is a legitimate question to ask, in the end isn’t it cheating? Personally, my answer is nuanced.
Yes and no!
First, we need to distinguish between the two methods of obtaining viewers. The traffic bots can be considered as cheating because their sole purpose is to manipulate the ranking algorithm so that you benefit from it. They don’t directly bring any real viewers into your room. So in that sense, using traffic bots is effectively cheating.
The purchase of viewers, via divatraffic for example, is different by construction: they are effectively real people. You just buy traffic after a specialized ad network (Divatraffic) the same way most cam sites and a good number of affiliates working for them do directly. These are real viewers, so it’s not cheating.
But increasingly difficult to do without…
Whether these practices are really cheating or not, in any case it’s becoming increasingly difficult to do without. Why? Simply because more and more camgirls, as well as the majority of “quality” studios, are using these methods. So you find yourself de facto lower and lower in the rankings.
Warning, I am not saying that it is not possible to succeed without using these tools. I’m only saying that “succeeding” will take a lot more effort if you don’t use these tools. Put another way, for the same show, you’ll earn much more using these tools than without. And this will be even more true as the number of camgirls using these tools increases.
This speech also needs to be tempered depending on how much experience and seniority you have. If you already have a large viewer community, you don’t necessarily need to resort to these schemes to make a living. However, if you are just starting out it becomes increasingly difficult.
Example by numbers
I’ll end with an example. A few weeks ago I came across an Italian forum where a newbie camgirl was asking for advice. She had been doing shows for a good month but had only made $163. I got in touch with her to see if I could help her.
So I observe two of her lives. I have a few comments to improve them but nothing transcendent. The problem clearly comes from the fact that there is almost nobody in her room. She is far from the top cams on the first page. I advise her to develop her social networks to redirect people to the cam platform. She doesn’t want to be present on social networks as a camgirl for anonymity/privacy issues.
So I offer her the possibilities described in this article (that’s where the idea for the article came from by the way 😉 ). Although reluctant because it was like “investing” about everything she had just earned, she decided to try it. Two weeks later, she earned about $900 by spending $150 on purchasing traffc on Divatraffic. That’s a profit of $750 in two weeks. Compared to $163 in a month without Divatraffic… The investment clearly paid off for her. And I hope for her sake that this is just the beginning.
