We saw in the article “camgirl – hard to succeed without marketing” , the major role of social networks in acquiring new customers.
In summary:
- either you rely on the traffic generated by the platform (thanks to its fame, advertising,..) and in addition on the chance that the visitor finds your profile,
- or you take matters into your own hands and go looking for customers off platform cam, especially on social networks.
Of course, we advise you the second option and will detail below the social networks on which to promote yourself.
It will probably surprise you but Twitter is the best and biggest social network on the internet that allows adult content. All you have to do is identify the media you tweet as containing potentially sensitive material. More information in the Twitter rules and policies section.
More than 300 million people use this platform. So you know where to start. You can follow the few tips below:
- work on your profile: The visual is very important so choose an attractive photo for the banner as well as for your profile picture. Fill your profile by giving obviously the link of the cam platform on which followers can find you. We advise you to put a direct link to your chatroom and to use an affiliate link.
- use hashtags: anything that starts with a # and is followed by a word is a hashtag. For example #camgirl is a hashtag. This is how tweets are categorized. Users search for information using these hashtags. When a user searches for something related to one of your hashtags, then they will come across your tweet. They can then become one of your followers if they like your profile. So don’t neglect hashtags and use relevant words. Some examples: #camgirl, #sexcam, #chaturbate (if you used chaturbate), #manyvids (if you used manyvids)…
- publish regularly: there is no secret, the more active you are and post regularly, the more followers you will have. Of course, posting photos and videos will have more impact than a simple “written” tweet. Also keep in mind that tweets are limited to 140 characters, so you’ll need to be punchy and synthetic. You can also use twitter to communicate the status of your cam platform (online/offline). Some cam platforms integrate this feature automatically. In this case, a tweet is automatically sent when you connect to your chatroom.
- Follow your potential customers: the best way to make this known and have followers is to provoke these “meetings”. To do this, start by following the profiles that you think they could be a customer. If they are interested, there is a strong chance that they follow you in turn. This takes time but it is the fastest way to get your first followers.
If you want to go further, I wrote a full article on the subject : Camgirl, become a community management expert on Twitter. The article is long but has plenty of tips to ensure you get significant growth in the number and engagement of your followers.
Instagram is the second social network we recommend you use. Unlike Twitter, the rules regarding adult content are much stricter. So you’ll have less freedom in the choice of photos/videos you post.
A small excerpt from instagram’s rules:“we do not allow nudity on Instagram. This includes photos, videos, and other digital content featuring sex, genitals, or close-up shots of a fully exposed buttocks. This also includes some photos of nipples.” Well, rest assured, that still leaves quite a bit of room to take sexy photos.
The tips for promoting your camgirl business are similar to those given for Twitter. Here are some details:
- profile : Instagram gives you the option to include a link in your profile. Insert obviously the url link of your chatroom on your cam platform. Be careful, this is about the only place on instagram where you can place a link.
- Watermark your photos: this is the small watermark with your nickname, often placed in the bottom right of the images. If a user is interested in your photos, he will certainly type your nickname under google and come across your cam platform. This advice is valid for all social networks but even more so on Instagram. Indeed, as seen in the previous point, Instagram only allows the use of a link, so it is a roundabout way to redirect users to the cam platform.
We don’t recommend using Facebook for for your camgirl business. This is because although Instagram is owned by Facebook, Facebook is much stricter on “adult” content. There is a good chance that your account will be censored. Therefore, don’t waste your time.
