Camgirl – the different types of shows

There are a multitude of show types in the cam world, each with its own subtleties. As this industry advances and adapts to the market, the number of show types increases. As a beginner, it is not easy to find your way around while this is an important point to understand when choosing your webcam platform.

So you will find a summary of the main existing shows at the moment. Note that the denomination varies according to the platforms. We have therefore kept the English denominations in order to be the most transverse.

Free Chat or Public Chat

In Free or Public chats, you are visible to anyone coming to the site, whether they have a member account or are just a visitor. It is called “free” because there is no need to pay in any way to access this show. Its purpose is to capture users in order to go to a paid show or to collect tips from visitors for the various actions you perform.

Two types of free/Public Chat exist and ultimately determine the two types of cam site: Freemium and Premium:

• Free chat during which you are not allowed to show “hard” content or even no nudity -> Premium model. You can then switch to a private show on a pay-per-minute basis upon a user’s request.
• free chat during which you do what you want in order to get the maximum tips and eventually switched to private show -> Freemium model

Private shows (with voyeurs)

Private shows (private show or private chat) are shows for which you receive a per-minute payment. Most often, you choose the rate. On most sites, the member who initiates the show will be the only one interacting with you but other members, the voyeurs, may also follow him/her. They then also pay by the minute, at a lower rate than the member initiating the show.

Some sites allow you to choose the rate of the show.

Some sites also allow the camgirl to enter a private show alone, without a member request. At this point, she will not get any payment. The goal is to get voyeurs to watch the show in exchange for payment. You will then have to “tease” on the public chat in order to get the peeps to come.

Note that some sites record private shows in order to make them accessible, at any time, to members who want to. Of course, they will then have to pay (per unit or via a subscription).

Private shows (without voyeur)

Private shows without voyeurs are shows with only one member. They have, as a rule, a higher cost to the member than private shows with voyeurs. This makes sense, because as a camgirl you will not receive any additional income from the peepers. For the member, it is the most expensive show because it is the one with the most interaction, the most personal that they can do with you.

This type of show can be found on all so-called “Preemium” platforms but Freemium platforms also offer it. Depending on the platform, it can have different names: True Private, Exclusive Show or Personal Shows.

Group shows

“Group” shows are pay-per-minute shows with multiple members. Unlike private shows with voyeurs, each member pays the same rate and has the same level of participation.

For example, on Streamate, “premium chat” is a group show. A member initiates the premium chat and afterwards any member can enter (and exit) as they wish. Each member present pays the rate chosen by the camgirl.

The rate ($/min) for these shows is often the lowest because the cost is shared with the individual members.

GOLD Shows or ticket shows

Gold shows are a special type of group show. The major difference is that they are not pay-per-minute but a pre-paid show for a pre-defined duration.

To start a Gold show, the camgirl starts a countdown and chooses the main characteristics: what will be done during the show, its duration, the minimum amount each member has to pay, the minimum collected amount needed to start the show, the max duration to reach this amount (=the countdown).

Of course, the cam girl can start the show before the end of the countdown if the amount reached suits her. If a show is cancelled because the minimum amount is not reached, the members are of course refunded and the camgirl does not get any money.

Once the show has started, the camgirl and members who have paid the mini amount go into a private chat. Note that other members can join them if they pay the mini amount. Members can chat together if they wish.

Like group shows, gold shows are a more affordable option for members than private shows.
